Ronald P. Forbes career with the city began in April 1960, as a police officer. After reaching the rank of Lieutenant, he transferred to City Administration as the City's Finance Director in 1971. His responsibilities over the next few years included Acting City Manager and Assistant City Manager/Administrative Services Director and Community Development Administrator. In 1982, Mr. Forbes returned to the Police Department as Police Chief, where he remained until his appointment to the City Manager position in April 1984.
Mr. Forbes provided more that 35 years of progress for the City of Pinellas Park in terms of professionalism, public improvements and quality service to the residents. Under his leadership the City strived to improve the drainage, streets, and recreation facilities, as well as using computers to automate city functions.
