I am Officer Ron McKenzie. I have been a Police Officer in Pinellas Park for almost 39 years.
I have worked in most sections of the Police Department in that time, mainly in the Traffic Section, as I have two passions: traffic enforcement/Investigations and Horses.
After working many years doing traffic crashes, for the last six years, I have been assigned to the Mounted Unit in Pinellas Park PD. I am now a certified Mounted Law Enforcement Trainer and was selected as the 2023 Officer of the Year.
I have one partner I work with right now: Heetwave. Heetwave was donated to the city two years ago by Terry Bradshaw and his daughter Erin. Heetwave is now six years old and is fantastic at his craft.
You will find me riding throughout the city when I am not doing demonstrations for schools and other organizations that request a visit.
We also patrol the Shoppes at Park Place, especially during the holiday season. We will also provide security for particular functions, parades, and other details throughout the city and county.
